Today’s Verses:

“You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. 44 But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! 45 In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. Matthew 5:43-45

Devotional:

We pray that your fast is going well and that God is speaking to you. We all have a best friend, someone we consider to be a major part of our life. What if that best friend decides to not be your friend anymore? How would you feel? Would you still pray for them? Would you care enough for their soul to still want them to be at church with you? Matthew 5:43-45 “You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. 44 But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! 45 In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. It can be real easy to make this Christian life all about ourselves. For the next 4 days, pray for everyone, even your enemies. God can do something amazing in the life of someone else because of your prayer. God loves everyone, let’s extend that same love to everyone else.

Questions:

  1. Do you understand the times and the seasons?
  2. What time is it in your life?
  3. Do you need to get more serious about pursuing God?

Prayer:

Dear Lord I thank you for this 21 days of prayer and fasting. We pray for our enemies and that we become better at showing love to those we meet. I pray you continue to bless us during these final 4 days of the fast.
