Today’s Verse:

In that day you will say:

“I will praise you, Lord.
    Although you were angry with me,
your anger has turned away
    and you have comforted me.
Surely God is my salvation;
    I will trust and not be afraid.
The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense;
    he has become my salvation.”
With joy you will draw water
    from the wells of salvation.

In that day you will say:

“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
    make known among the nations what he has done,
    and proclaim that his name is exalted.
Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things;
    let this be known to all the world.
Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion,
    for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.” Isaiah 12

Devotional:

Day 3 of the fast and you’re starting to feel the fast a little bit. The discipline is honoring God. There are different challenges this year at the fast. There are Bible reading options, fasting options, prayer meetings to attend and more. Let me encourage you to accept the different challenges this year. As you read your Bible, pray and seek God, your Spirit man will come alive. Maybe you didn’t realize your spirit man was asleep. There is something greater inside of you that needs to come alive to greater things. Fasting makes you aware to the world around you and see the world like Jesus sees the world. Isaiah 12 is a great chapter for us to read today because we are living in the days that Isaiah prophesied about.

Questions:

  1. How is your Bible reading going?
  2. Is your spirit man coming alive to the things of God?
  3. Are you doing everything you feel like God is asking you to do?

Prayer:

Lord, on day 3, I need your help. I am starting to feel the hunger for food and entertainment. I need your help. I commit these 21 days to you and I pray for strength to accomplish everything you want me to do. Change me from the inside out and awaken my spirit man. Amen.
