Devotional:

During seasons of prayer and fasting, God often invites us to look beneath the surface of our lives. Fasting clears space. Prayer sharpens our focus. Together, this helps us see what truly matters—and what God has already placed in our hands: His promises. God’s promises are not casual words. They are treasures. Hidden, precious, and powerful. Like buried treasure, they are often discovered by those willing to seek, dig, and wait. In fasting, we set aside distractions in our lives so our hearts can search for the greater thing—God Himself and what He has spoken over us. A treasure isn’t valuable because it’s easy to access; it’s valuable because it’s worth everything it costs to find it. God’s promises are the same. They may require patience, trust, obedience, and endurance. But every promise carries the weight of God’s character. He cannot lie. He does not forget. What He has promised, He will fulfill. This season is not about earning God’s promises; it’s about realigning our hearts to believe them again. Fasting strips away the noise that tells us “God is distant, delayed, or done.” Prayer reminds us that heaven is attentive, active, and generous. When we pray and fast, we are choosing eternal treasure over temporary satisfaction. Some promises feel buried beneath disappointment, unanswered prayers, or long waiting seasons. But treasure remains valuable even when hidden. God’s silence is not His absence, and delay is not denial. What He has spoken still stands. As you pray and fast, ask God to show you the promises you’ve forgotten, doubted, or stopped pursuing. Write them down. Speak them aloud. Guard them like treasure. Let your hunger remind you that your deepest need is not food—but faith in a faithful God.

Questions:

1. What promises from God am I currently holding onto, and which ones have I quietly stopped believing or pursuing?

2. How has waiting affected my trust in God’s promises—has it strengthened my faith or caused discouragement? Why?

3. If I truly believed God’s promises are a priceless treasure, how would that change my choices, prayers, or priorities right now?

Prayer:

Lord, during this season of prayer and fasting, help us treasure Your promises above all else. Give us faith to seek, patience to wait, and courage to trust You fully. Remind us that what You have promised is worth everything. Amen.
