Day 16 | 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

Today’s Verse: 

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. 1 Chronicles 4:10

Devotional: 

We are on our 21 days of prayer and fasting and we are well on our way. We must believe that God hears us when we pray. The when and the how of God’s promises always belong to the Lord. The prayer of Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. Why did God answer Jabez’s prayer? Jabez wanted God’s blessings and not the world’s blessings. A gift from God causes no sorrow. Jabez wanted God to enlarge him and that God’s hand would be upon him. God loves a prayer that asks Him to draw closer to us. Jabez asked God to keep him from evil…wonderful prayer for all of us to pray. Pray and great prayer today.
