Day 10 | 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

Today’s Verse: 

Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward, you should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 1 Corinthians 7:5

Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thess. 5:16-18

Devotional: 

This fast has been amazing. Have you grown? Are you feeling good? Sometimes, our fasts don’t go how we’d like them to go and we can feel guilty about our disciplines. So important that we go all in with our prayer and fasting. This is a challenge of giving something up but also filling a void with pursuing more of God. Draw near to the Lord and He will draw near to you. 1 Corinthians 7:5 Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward, you should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt you because of your lack of self-control. What’s the heart behind us giving up the food? Don’t give up the food for the wrong reasons. 1 Thess. 5:16-18 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. Thank you Lord that you are merciful and you love us because God is gracious and kind and is waiting for us to respond to Him. Are you praying without ceasing?

Prayer:

I can be the first to admit that at times this fast has been done for the wrong reasons. Lord, I get my heart back on track to focus on you and to fast for the right reasons. I am sorry for what I have done but from this time forward, I am going to set apart more time to seek you and pray.
