Devotional:

Welcome to day 19. You might be tempted to wind down or wrap up your time of seeking God. We may think, “I’ve gained all God has for me, so I will just take it easy these last few days.” However, God is NOT done. Let’s finish what we started. Galations 6:9 says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up”. You are doing a good thing. Your prayers and fasting are drawing you close to the Father. There is a harvest coming, a reward; there is fruit so don’t give up. Let’s commit to the process just like Namaan did in 2 Kings 5. Elisha told Namaan to commit himself to a process in order to find healing. Not until that process was completed did Naaman experience full healing. God has directed us to a time of prayer and fasting these past 21 days. Let’s complete the process together. In Luke 17, Jesus heals 10 lepers and one returns to thank Jesus for his miraculous healing. When he gave thanks, there was a deeper level of wholeness, both spiritual and physical, that the leper experienced when he went back to Jesus one more time. Go to God one more time, worship him one more time, get in the word one more time- you might receive an even greater measure of His miraculous power in your life. Don’t cut yourself short. Let’s commit and complete the process of our 21 days of prayer and fasting. There is a reward, there are miracles, there is a deep and wonderful work happening on the inside of us as we finish strong!

Questions:

1. What is God asking you to do in these final days of the fast?

2. What decisions do you need to make ahead of time so that you can finish strong? Is it setting an alarm on your phone to remind you to pray? Is it committing to the prayer meeting on Saturday? Is it extra Bible reading so that you can reach your goal?

3. If you are feeling tempted to give up, who can you reach out to for some accountability and encouragement in these final days? Ask someone to pray that you might finish well.

4. Have you received what you hoped for during this fast? Are you willing to go to Jesus one more time? What do you think God might have for you if you commit to the process and complete what you set out to do?

Prayer:

Lord, I come to you and I’m ready to finish strong. I have sought you, but I’m not done seeking you. I know you have more for me in these final days. I want to complete these 21 days with a heart of obedience, trust and faith. Lord, I want all you have for me. In Jesus name, amen.
