Trip to Israel

I would like to share with you my trip to Israel. I will try to blog about the various sites we saw in Israel. I hope my blogging about the trip will bless you. It truly was a trip of a lifetime for me.

Is God a Capitalist or a Socialist?

I saw a recent article in the Detroit News that asked the question, "Is God a Socialist? The article essentially said No. I thought I would pose the question to you. Does the Bible teach socialism or capitalism? What is the overall teaching of Scripture. I'll give my thoughts on the subject as you give yours. Pastor Tim

The Tactics of the Enemy

The Bible says, "we are not ignorant of his devices." This verse speaks about the tactics of the devil. We are not ignorant of his schemes and tactics. What are his tactics? How does the enemy try to defeat you. I know the devil loves to use the D's against us. What are the D's? They are doubt, deception, discouragement, and distraction. What do you think are some of his tactics? Pastor Tim

I'm Excited!!!

I'm very excited for Ignited this weekend. They have approximately 140 people attending Acquire the Fire at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Kudos to Pastor Jake, Hannah, Luke and the entire youth staff. I have the privilege of opening up the event with prayer of Friday night. Many thanks to Pastor Jake and Hannah for making it happen for me. I count it a privilege to be allowed to open with prayer. God bless, Pastor Tim

Encountering Satan

Have you ever had an encounter with Satan or demons? I believe the Bible teaches us that Satan is an actual person not just an evil force. He has a mind, a will, and emotion. He will be cast into the lake of fire according to the book of Revelation. If he is real, have you ever encountered him? I have. I have had many encounters with the demonic. I will be sharing some of them with you on the next series (Stomp). I would like to read some of your encounters with the Evil One. Perhaps your experiences will be similar to mine. Pastor Tim

Should You Speak in Tongues?

I love the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. Two days after I gave my heart to Christ, I responded to an altar call to "get more of God." This was only the second time I had stepped into a church that was not Roman Catholic. The ministers prayed over me to be filled with the Spirit and speak in tongues. I didn't even know what tongues were or how to speak in tongues. God poured out His Spirit upon me, and I spoke in tongues. It was great! That was 33 years ago. I speak in tongues every day. It edifies me. It gives me a great sense of God's presence.

guilt or condemnation

I wanted to ask you the difference between guilt and condemnation. Or, the difference between conviction (which brings guilt) and condemnation (which brings false guilt).

Convinction is from the Holy Spirit. Condemnation is from the devil.

Do you want the President to fail?

Do you want president Obama to fail? Rush Limbaugh, a conservative radio host, made news recently saying he want President Obama to fail. It got me doing some thinking. Do I want the President to fail? I'll answer the question with two responses. I want America to succeed not fail. I'm patriotic to the core. I love America, and I want to see it righteous, peaceful and prosperous. Do I want the President to succeed or fail? Well, I want him to succeed if it means America is peaceful and prosperous. I want him to succeed if it means America is righteous in God's sight.

The Things I learned

Now that I have finished my 21 days of prayer and fasting, I thought I would share with you some of the things I learned from the Lord.

I learned that 21 days is a great length of time to seek the Lord. It wasn't too short that I felt like I had to hurry and seek God. It wasn't too long that I got weary of the season of fasting. It was just right.

I learned that the Lord wants to work things out of me and in me. God dealt with sin issues and holiness issues.

Awesome Sunday Service

We had an awesome service on Sunday. It was a powerful move of the Holy Spirit in the 9 a.m. service. I don't think it is too much of a stretch to link the powerful move of God on Sunday with our powerful prayer meeting on Friday before the Sunday service. God answers prayer. God responds to fasting and prayer. When we pray, God moves. I look forward to our prayer meeting on Thursday night. I think we are going to have great services the following Sunday. What do you think?
