A moment that stands out in my mind is a Wednesday Evening message from back in the old sanctuary, which is now the Kids on the Rock room. Pastor's text was Nehemiah 2:11-15, the part where Nehemiah goes out and rides around Jerusalem in the middle of the night. It's the kind of passage that you skim over on your way to "the good part of the story." He preached a very interesting and detailed message about what parts of life each gate represented and how important it is to examine these areas. I don't really remember all of the details any more, but it really revealed to me both how deep and rich the Word of God is, and how Cornerstone is a great place to learn it."

I thought it was wonderful to see how much this church has put into attracting the kids to church, the themed rooms, the games, climbing walls, ball courts...How cool, it makes me wish I was a kid again. "It was over 16 years ago now when the Lord supernaturally drew me to Cornerstone and to my salvation. I was never witnessed to, I never knew anyone who walked with the Lord. Beginning early in 1993, I began listening to Christian radio-it was a supernatural thing-I had never listened to Christian radio, I really don't even know how I even found the station-WMUZ. I heard Pastor Tim speaking the Word of God in such a meaningful way and then explaining where the church was-Clyde Road and Hickory Ridge. Since I had just moved out to this area, I was astounded that anything would be out this way. One Sunday evening I went to service. I saw people praising God with their hands raised in the air. I had never witness this kind of worship ever before in my life and I thought it was wonderful. Pastor Tim preached the Word and at the end of service asked if anyone wanted more of Jesus-I thought it was a rhetorical question. So my hand immediately went right up in the air as I looked around wondering why all the other people didn't have their hands up too. I did not even realize it was a call to salvation. How could I? I didn't even know what the words "saved" or "born again" meant. I tell people I got saved "by accident" although we know God's plan for our lives is perfect and there are no coincidences in Christ. He was so merciful to reach out to me even though I did not even know I needed a Savior. Since that day I have never looked back. Jesus has never ceased to amaze me by His love and mercy. Cornerstone is not just my church, it is my family."

We went back to the little church where we were married and about a month later, our daughter Allison came back to us with this look of disappointment. We asked her what was wrong and she just wasn't happy with the childrens program there. Well, my husband said we can not have that, we need a church that will minister to ALL of us. So, we came back to Cornerstone at Easter time of 2004 and the rest is history.
